Hilliary

Hilliary Anderson
Executive Director

Hilliary is currently serving in Rwanda as the Executive Director and Treasurer on the HFLM board. It has been her dream since she was 8 years old to work with vulnerable children and start a home/center for them. Her dream has now been realized and she loves working with the children and staff at HFLM.

Chantal

Chantal Umutesi
Children's Director

Chantal holds a degree in Language as well as Travel Operations. She is the former Children’s Director of Patmos Healing Ministries, the organization Hillary and Megan worked with during their stay in Kigali, and possesses a heart that desires to love vulnerable children. Chantal is fluent in English and willingly serves as a translator. Since she was a young girl, she has dreamed about and felt called to found an orphanage. From the time Chantal helped found HFLM in 2009, she has been the backbone of the ministry. Chantal supervises the children, staff and programs at the home, along with keeping records of the children, teaching, and orchestrating the reconciliation program.

Tonto

Gustave Ndayishimiye
Lead Residential Counselor

Gustave has a great passion for working with vulnerable children. This passion grew and developed from the difficulties he survived as a child living through the Rwandan genocide in 1994. Because he endured extensive difficulties as a child, it is his ambition to do everything he can to help children who are facing difficult circumstances. Gustave is a fulltime employee at HFLM, and he spends his days supervising, mentoring, and loving on the boys at HFLM.

Jacky Mukangendo
Residential Counselor

Jacky is a hardworking and dedicated woman who resides at HFLM full-time. She has schooling in cooking and previously worked for Christian Action for Reconciliation and Social Action (CARSA) as an assistant and cook. She has a natural ability with working with children, and she directly mentors and oversees the 12 youngest boys at HFLM. In the future, Jacky hopes to study language (including English) and she also wishes to become proficient at operating computers. Jacky is very disciplined and persistent in her work, caring for the children at the home, helping the boys with their studies, mentoring them in their spiritual lives, and assisting the children in their daily life. Her favorite activity to do with the boys, though, is praying with them and teaching them songs.

Chantal

Yankurije Beatrice
Residential Caretaker

Yankurije began as a farmer at Hope For Life producing fruit and vegetables for the ministry. When the need arose for a cook and caretaker, it was an easy transition to that position for Yankurije since she was familiar with the organization, knew the children and understood the food needs. The children love her cooking and she's able to supervise the self sustaining development of the farm.

Gakuru

Nsabimana Etiene "Stephen"
Residential Gaurd

Before Stephen came to work for HFLM, he resided in Kabuga and was already familiar with the boys. He has experience working in security, and came highly recommended. Stephen loves singing in his church choir and does so regularly. He's responsible for the safety and security of HFLM, assisting the caretaker and counselors, and also developing the goat and rabbit programs.
